Direct financial support comes from individual charitable contributions, dues and donations from member congregations, and fund raisers. The SSIP Food Closet has also received small grants from Feinstein Fund, the Land-Henchell fund, ELCA Domestic Hunger Grants Program, Kaiser Permanente, and the Sacramento annual CROP walk.
Tax deductible donations are always accepted. |

New Building Needed! Ask anyone who’s ever worked in the Food Closet and they will tell you, “We need more space!” There’s a reason we call it a ‘closet’ because that’s what it was before we opened as a food distribution center. More space is needed for food storage and for filling clients’ orders. Many volunteers have helped in the initial design of the new building and we have received some capital donations. Construction oversight and permits are needed to take us to the next level.
Can you help us? Contact: Frances Lee 427-7983 or Frank Allen 392-8188 to help with construction or to make a donation to our building fund. |
