SSIP Food Closet is here for all who are in need.  Our emergency food distribution helps to alleviate food insecurity for Sacramento residents. 

During 2024 we served over 83,000 households while assisting 234,031 individuals. 

Receiving assistance

Our walk-up food distribution is a simple process that allows clients to register and receive food in a short amount of time.  When you check in at registration, you’ll be asked to provide details about you and your family members.  Bring a form of identification (government issued card or mail addressed with your name) to ease the process. Once checked walk towards our distribution building with your food ticket, where you will receive your food items. Once a week, you can expect to receive a variety of food in our full allotment, including dry goods, fresh or frozen perishables, bread, produce, and sometimes dairy.

Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 11:30 am

Closed on major holidays (dates available on our welcome page)

Please note we take a ten minute break at 10:00 am
